In this movie, a guy named Dewey, who is crazy for rock and wants to be a rock superstar, does whatever he wants to do to make his dream come true. At first he belongs to a rock band, but his fellow band members get rid of him because his performance is not very good. Of course, he tries to persuade them to change their mind. Their answer is, however, “No.” Afterwards he gets a chance to be a teacher in an elementary school by pretending to be his nice roommate, Ned. The school is one of the most prestigious schools in New York.
My favorite part is when Dewey and his students play the music written by Zack instead of Dewey’s song at the competition. At the competition, everyone including the teachers in the elementary school and students’ parents cheer for the kids who play music with so much fun. I think this happens because students have practiced so hard and overcame a lot of terrible and funny things. Also I believe Dewey has done a really good job with his students. He is a kind of crazy and selfish guy, but I like his way of thinking for rock and for his students.
The first time I saw the title of this movie, I thought that I have not listened to rock very often so I wondered if it was going to be an interesting movie to me. When I watched it, however, the movie turned into one of my favorite movies. In my opinion, what the movie wants to tell us is that all of us can be considered an important person in someone’s life.
