The Review of White Collar

Neal Caffrey is in a prison because he is a thief and commits many crimes. One day he escapes from the prison. He can do that because he is incredibly smart. The police think they won’t be able to catch him again so they ask Peter Burk, the special agent in the FBI and the only person who caught Neal in the past. Peter does research on the things around Neal on the previous days. Though the research, he finds out one strange thing which happened to Neal. A week ago, Neal’s ex-girlfriend visited him and his behavior has changed from then. Peter thinks Neal went to her house and that is right. Neal sits on the empty floor with a bottle. Neal gets back to the jail and tries to gets out of there again. His plan is to help Peter with his knowledge. Peter lets him out of the jail and takes him wherever Peter goes. This is how they get started to work on many difficult cases together.
In episode 1, Peter is looking for the man called “Dutch Man.” One day he finds a strange guy who has a bunch of the same books at the airport. He goes to the airport with Neal and inquires into the strange man and the books. Then Neal finds out that the guy is involved in the Dutch Man’s case from the books. Because of Neal’s advice, Peter can find the Dutch Man’s secret place and catch him. Afterwards, Peter decides to give Neal the license of FBI and work with Neal.
I really enjoyed seeing this show and want to keep watching this. I like all kinds of mystery or suspense movies like Sherlock Holmes, Columbo and Ocean’s series. The people who come out that kind of movie are so smart and cool. Neal and Peter are also very smart and I like the way they cooperate to solve big problems even though they are a thief and a secret agent of FBI. I am looking forward to the next episode. (343)

When I read this story, I thought the kind person became happy at last. Chin was so kind person that he could be given some magical tools from by old man. And his two brothers couldn't get those because they were so unkind. Also, the pictures of two brothers are very clumsy, but Chin's is cute! I don't like two brothers. I also thought I have to behave kindly all people who are in trouble.(115)

I read "The Princess and the Pea". Many people have read a story about Cinderella, but this "princess" story is different from it. A prince wants to find a real princess so he sets out to travel the world. He meets Peg, a palace maid. Actually, I thought Peg would be a real princess at last. haha That is because she is so cute and kind. The prince used a pea to find a real princess, but I couldn't understand why the pea was needed. I thought the prince could find a real princess without the pea. However, I was glad to see the princess Peg. She is cute as expected. (139)

BR-13 Beauty and the Beast

"I took a rose from the garden of a monstrous beast and he has sworn to kill
me..." When Beauty reads this letter form her father, she bravely rises to the
Beast's enchanted castle in his place. The Beast is truly terrifying, but, as
Beauty soon realizes, nothing is quite as it seems.
I think almost everyone have heard this tale's name because there is the movie of the tale from Disney. However, there are some difference between the story and the movie.
First, Beauty has two elder sisters and they are nasty. They try to make Beauty's roses sick and they love their father's money but himself. Second, there is no servant in the Beast's castle. The invisible magic hands help him to serve foods, open the doors and so on. The story has other differences from Disney's movie, but the ending is same as it. Beauty and the Beast marry each other! I love this story:) Oh, I want to see the movie of it, I will do after I finish my homework. (171)

I read "Stories of Pirates". This book consists of three stories, The pesky parrot, Captain spike and The Masked Pirate. I like each of stories, but I especially like " The pesky parrot". I thought the parrot was so clever! I want to meet him. And because of the parrot's ability, Charlie could get enough money to buy new bird. However, I think the parrot was the best bird so he should not give the parrot to someone. Other stories are also interesting. (112)

Anna has got her new skateboard and raced on the road with it. After a while, she meets her friends on the road. They say her new skateboard is really cool. One of her friends, Tom, asks her if he can take the skateboard for a ride. Anna doesn't want him to do that, but he doesn't hear her and goes somewhere with it. She follows him as soon as possible and finally finds him. At that time, she finds a bump on the road and shouts. But it is too late. Tom goes over the bump and falls off. Anna's skateboard gets scratched. Tom apologizes her and she is not mad at him. Instead, she tells him that she gathered money from her job.

I like this story because this reminds me of my childhood memory. When I was 6 years old, I got a new staffed animal from my parents. However, my brother stole it and it got messed. This book's story is similar to my story. (169)

BR-10 Marty and the Magazine

There are two boys, Marty and Joe. They have been friends since they were little kids. They hung out to Mr Mancini's music shop most Fridays. One day, however, Joe steals a magazine in Mr Mancini's shop and Marty sees it by accident. No one notices that besides Marty. He feels sick because he doesn't know what to do. They goes out the shop and meets Joe's mom. She asks Joe about the magazine. Joe suddenly says its Marty's and he says "Yes." He doesn't feel good again because he lies. He just likes the music shop so he goes there to give the magazine back. Finally, he decides to quit Joe's friend so behaves like he doesn't know Joe.

I think this is a really sad story because the good friends get separated. Also I think Marty's decision is not quit good. Actually, Joe did such a bad thing, but Marty should have told him that was a bad thing and not gonna do it again. That is a friend. (171)

This book is about a boy named Marco. He lives with his parents and works at his dad’s farm. He helps his dad every day, but actually he doesn’t like his job like counting peaches he and co-workers picked. This is because he felt boring every time he works. So his dream is going to the big city near his town and get away from his job in the farm. One day he tries to sneak out his house and go to the big city by train. He gets up early morning like 5 o’clock and goes to the station near his house. He just brings some t-shirt, a pair of jeans and a little money. However, he doesn’t have enough money to get a train so he just runs into the train. He finally gets to the big city and meets a weird girl on the street. She asked him lend money to get a whole of cake and share with him. He gives her his money, but she lies. She tries to run away from him as soon as she gets the cake. However, she is attacked by a car and police come. Marco leaves her alone and goes to the market in the town. He is hungry, but he has no money so he finds his peaches in the market. He argues these are his peaches, but the seller doesn’t believe him. At that time, people who knows Marco passes by and talks to him. Then the guy takes Marco back to his town. Marco thinks he doesn’t like the big city because everywhere is so dirty.

I know how Marco feels because I am living in country side too. However I am also thinking about going to some urban places to get a job. Because I read this book, I am just wondering if to go to urban side is going to be good decision or not. (321)

Suicide

There has been a great discussion about suicide and are many different ways to think. In my opinion, however, suicide is morally wrong. This is because suicide can cause someone trouble objectively. When we think about troubles for suicide, there are some ideas that could be come up with easily, for example, sad feelings of family or friends and influence on contribution to society. That means if someone suddenly disappear their places of work, other people have to fill vacant posts. Most people might think causing someone trouble is bad thing. Of course, I do think so because I think we have to live with helping with each other. However, why do we consider that disturbing someone in any situation is a bad thing? I am going to talk about this problem with considering that suicide could be one of the biggest things in that regard.

First of all, I gave some example about causing someone trouble, but I would like to emphasize that we reap a huge amount of benefit and betraying them is one of the ugliest actions that I think. All people keep benefiting from anything. Being born, they are already received benefits from their parents, then, while they are growing up, they are done from not only their parents, but also their friends, lovers and so on. When we say “benefit”, the word has kind of an indefinite meaning. For example, however, if you can have a great lunch time with your friends, you can say you receive kindness from them in that it is considered that you cannot have fun alone. Similarly, we have been at indebtedness position from non-humans. The reason is that hundreds of thousands of animal’s lives are sacrificed for our lives and we reap a lot of benefit from them. In other words, we cannot live without benefit of non-humans. Killing oneself means casting away their lives and giving away all benefit which are given by them. I believe that no one confer a favor for you hoping that you betray it. In addition, all of them desire that you will live happy life so they take care of you. In this situation, can we say that suicide is freedom to choose? I certainly want to say “No”. We have a duty to take advantage of precious things which are given by anyone else.

Taking Kant’s objection to suicide into account, the discussion now turns to the comparison between his opinion and mine. According to his thought, if a person has courage to kill himself and strength to seek more valuable things than his own life, he must live with the strength. I think his opinion is really true and one of the ways to help people who are thinking about suicide. However, this thought thinks about only the person, so it is different from my idea because I do want to focus on not only the person but also people around him. Actually, who is going to be sad by or suffering from suicide? It is people who will have lived long time without a person who died. That is to say dead person will not feel sad and pain, but on the other hand, people around the person will have to live with sad feelings. So suicide is not individual problem.

Next, I am going to think about Mill’s thought of individual freedom. The meaning of freedom that is considered by him is the individual freedom from public opinion. He thought that even if a person did anything by himself, it is his responsibility that any problems cause, and no one can interfere in him. However, an important point is that Mill said that as long as the person does not cause someone trouble. My opinion agrees with this condition in that whatever the person does involve people who are around him.

All in all, suicide is morally wrong because it affects a lot of people around the person. I took some things for instance, but the biggest problem is just sadness of his close relatives. They could think “Why did not stop him?” or “What is the reason why he did?” Everyone knows that making someone sad is not right thing. We have to consider what right or wrong thing anytime. If it is available to think that I am connecting with a lot of people around me like spider’s webs, it is easy to imagine that suicide could be a knife to cut many strong important films by myself. X Factor

Recently I am crazy about X factor, the American TV show. This is an audition show which choose one person who becomes a singer and gets 500 million contract with a recording company. There were tons of challengers who wanted to get the contract and make their dream come true. Today I just saw the final on TV. There were three people who kept winning the audition; two guys and a woman. I liked the woman whose name was Melanie Amaro because I just loved her voice and she sang like amazing! Of course the other guys were amazing too, but she was special for me. Surprisingly she got the first prize on the show!!! I was so glad to see that. She cried a lot because her dream to be a singer finally came true. She wanted to be a singer not only for herself, but also for her family. She said like her family was always with her and cheered her up every time she lost confidence. She also said she has got confidence to be in front of many people because of that show. I am a little jealous to her because I sometimes lose confidence and want to run away. However she gave me something which really cheer me up. Even though I don't know her and she doesn't know me, I am a big fun of her. I want her to become a big star in the world and sing like she doesn't have any fears. I like her singing "Listen" by Beyonce. When she sings that song, she looks really amazing. It was so touchy and I was moved so many times. Anyway I keep paying attention to her from now on, and when her first album comes out, I run to buy it for sure! I love her so much!(307)

Brad Paisley

I attended Brad Paisley’s concert on September 30th. He sings country music and plays the guitar. His band members play drums, guitars and keyboards. Then, I am going to talk about his background. He was invited to appear on Wheeling station WWVA’s famed Saturday night broadcast Jamboree USA. Paisley’s debut was so well received that he was invited to join the program full-time, and in the years to follow he opened for the likes of the Judds, Roy Clark, and Little Jimmy Dickens. He later attended Nashville’S Belmont University, serving an internship with ASCAP; the contacts Paisley made there helped him land songwriting deal with EMI, and he also appeared in countless demos. Singing to Arista, he issued his debut solo album, Who Needs Pictures, in 1999. The record produced two chart-topping singles in He Didn’t Have to Be, an ode to lobing stepfathers, and We Danced and also earned generally positive reviews for its diversity of country styles. The full album, Time Well Wasted, appeared two weeks later and narrowly missed the top of the album charts, though it did hit number one on the country charts. He is known for bridging the gap between young audiences and country’s roots, uniting generations with the sheer joyful exuberance of his music, stage presence and videos. When I attend his concert, there were a lot of people from all generation such as young people like me, kids and even old people like my grandparents.
In conclusion, I would like to his influences I am interested in. I could notice that he often use back screen with his song by attending his concert. The screen changed its style in accordance with his many kinds of song, for example, when he sang a song involved in water, the screen reflected some water scenery. That was really good and every audience were so excited. I think he has abilities not only for singing or playing the guitar, but also making more fun concert by using a back screen.(344)

My favorite things to do

I have three favorite things to do; playing the piano, listening to music and hanging out with my friends. Actually I had learned to play the piano for fifteen years since I was three years old so playing the piano is a part of my life. I quit learning it, but I still play it almost every day. The sounds make me happy. Also I like listening to music in English. One of my hobbies is to listen to American radio. I listen it every day when I take a train to my college. I can get a lot of information about new songs from it. In addition, I improve my listening skill by doing it. Hanging out with friends is the best thing to me, of course. Even if I don’t feel good, my friends make me happy by talking with me. So I try to hang out with my nice friends as many as possible.(157)

My New Friend, Tom

I am going to introduce my new friend, Tom. We met each other at the bar he works at. He is 25 years old and has worked there for 3 years. He is a good looking guy so girls talk to him every day. He likes his job, but he wants to be a singer actually. He graduated from college and majored engineering. When he was a student, he went to the bar a lot and saw some music bands’ performance there. He was moved at that time so he decided to be a singer in the future. Now he is making money working at the bar as a bartender. I heard a good news yesterday; he will be able to sing songs on the stage in the bar this weekend! I am so glad to hear that. Everyone, please go to his bar and listen to his singing.
